Keys® Launches in ChatGPT, Turning “I’m Locked Out” Into a Locksmith Request
PR Newswire
NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2026
The company’s Keys Locksmith integration, demonstrated live at the Yankee Security Convention, gives customers a new way to request service and connect with local locksmiths through Keys®.
NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Keys Inc. today announced that Keys Locksmith is now available in ChatGPT. Built using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the integration connects customers’ requests for help with Keys’ locksmith service platform, giving customers a new way to request service and participating professionals a new way to reach them.
With Keys Locksmith connected, a customer can begin with a simple request: “Keys, I’m locked out of my car.” The conversation can help establish what service is needed, gather the relevant details and request quotes. The customer then continues to a secure Keys page to select a locksmith and authorize payment.
“The locksmith down the street deserves a place in the future of AI,” said Loay Jamal Alyousfi, Founder and CEO of Keys Inc. “These are skilled professionals who solve real problems for people every day. We built Keys to make that expertise easier to reach, and this integration brings that connection into the conversation.”
Keys presented the integration live to locksmiths at the 46th Annual Yankee Security Convention, held October 20–24, 2026, at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. The demonstration brought the company’s work in conversational service requests directly to the professionals who fulfill those requests.
A clearer path from a request to professional service
Keys Locksmith connects ChatGPT with tools that support the service journey, including:
- Natural language requests. Customers can explain a lockout, lost key or other supported locksmith need in everyday language.
- Vehicle and key identification. Customers can provide vehicle details or a VIN when relevant and review available key images to help identify the key type needed.
- Local availability and quote requests. Keys can check coverage and send a request to eligible nearby participating locksmiths, helping customers reach multiple providers through one request.
- Actual quotes and useful service details. Customers can review returned pricing, included work and estimated arrival information, with estimates and their conditions identified.
- Control over booking and payment. Customers choose their locksmith and authorize payment on a secure Keys page. On jobs using Keys’ current authorization flow, the approved amount is held before dispatch and collected after the locksmith completes the service and submits proof.
- Approval of additional work. Customers can review and approve or decline proposed work beyond the original scope.
- Continued communication and visibility. Customers can check request and job status, access tracking information, message their assigned locksmith and request cancellation through supported workflows.
The integration brings information from Keys into the conversation while keeping the customer in control of provider selection and payment authorization.
A new way for locksmiths to reach customers
For locksmith businesses, the opportunity starts with being reachable through another place customers ask for help. Requests can carry the service type, location, vehicle information and key details needed to prepare a relevant quote. That context is designed to reduce repeated questions and help providers understand the job before traveling.
Keys® brings ChatGPT service requests directly into its locksmith network. Participating providers can review job details, submit quotes, and connect with customers through Keys. Once a customer selects a provider, the locksmith can manage the job, communication, and payment through the Keys® platform.
The ChatGPT integration extends a broader Keys platform that includes quoting, scheduling, dispatch, customer communication, invoicing, inventory management and payment tools. Together, those capabilities connect the opportunity to win a job with the work required to manage it.
“Showing Keys Locksmith live at Yankee was one of the proudest moments in our journey,” Alyousfi said. “We’ve spent years building toward this. When someone asks AI for help, a local locksmith should have a chance to answer. Seeing that vision become reality through Keys® is an incredible moment for our industry.”
Technology that connects to work in the field
Built using MCP, Keys Locksmith connects ChatGPT to Keys’ service tools and information. Keys develops and operates the integration, and participating locksmiths perform the services. ChatGPT is developed by OpenAI, an AI research and deployment company.
For Keys, the milestone advances a practical vision for AI in the skilled trades: make it easier for a customer to explain a need and for a qualified professional to respond with a service they can provide.
Customers can connect Keys Locksmith in ChatGPT to begin a service request. Locksmiths can visit Keys.app to learn more about joining the provider network. Service availability depends on location, requested service and participating provider availability.
