SAN FRANCISCO, CA, UNITED STATES, October 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Enterprises are spending billions on AI, yet most autonomous agents never make it to production. The reason is not a lack of ambition or budget — it is a lack of agent security.
Without consistent, enforceable data access controls across platforms like Microsoft Fabric and OneLake, every AI agent becomes a liability: a vector for over-privileged access, data exposure, and failed audits.
No governance means no production. No production means no ROI.
Microsoft Fabric and OneLake have become the unified data foundation of choice for enterprise AI but that foundation only delivers value when every agent, every query, and every access path is governed end to end. Today, Trust3 AI is eliminating that blocker. The company announced a new capability that automatically synchronizes row and column-level security policies across Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft OneLake Security giving enterprises the security foundation they need to finally move AI agents from pilot to production at scale within Microsoft Fabric environments. The announcement coincides with FabCon and SQLCon Barcelona 2026, where
Microsoft unveiled a sweeping expansion of the OneLake ecosystem, marking a decisive shift in how enterprises govern data access for both humans and autonomous AI agents.
As organizations adopt best-of-breed data strategies spanning multiple platforms, access policies have historically needed to be recreated and maintained separately in each environment. Trust3 AI closes this gap by carrying authorization intent from Databricks and Snowflake directly into Microsoft Fabric, ensuring a single, consistent security posture regardless of where data is accessed, including by autonomous AI agents acting on a user’s behalf.
“Enterprise AI agents should inherit the same trust boundaries as the people and systems they act on behalf of,” said Don Bosco Durai, CTO of Trust3 AI. “Our integration with Microsoft OneLake Security carries security intent from Databricks and Snowflake into the agent’s identity and permissions in Microsoft Fabric. That gives enterprises a practical way to scale autonomous AI without creating a parallel security model or weakening existing controls.”
Microsoft’s announcements at FabCon and SQLCon Barcelona 2026 reinforce this shift toward an open, governed data ecosystem. Highlights include IQ sharing (preview) for securely sharing governed data and business context across teams and partners, bidirectional Salesforce Data 360 integration, lakeFS versioned data access, Dynamics 365 Business Central mirroring, production-ready Azure Databricks native storage in OneLake, Google BigQuery mirroring, on-demand OneLake compute billing, Fabric zero-provisioned (F0), a OneLake Table Read API for AI agents, public preview of ClickHouse workloads in Fabric, deeper Microsoft Foundry and Excel integration, and new partner workloads from Esri, Telmai, Celonis, Spectral Core, Financial Fabric, IntuigenceAI, and Metropolis.
“As enterprises adopt a best-of-breed data strategy, access controls cannot stop at platform boundaries,” said Dipti Borkar, Vice President, Microsoft IQ and OneLake at Microsoft. “Maintaining a consistent security posture across OneLake, Databricks, Snowflake, and every access path is essential to giving people and AI agents the freedom to work with data without compromising governance.”
TomTom and EY are among the first partners onboarding to IQ sharing. “Trusted location data is a foundational ingredient for our customers’ applications, AI solutions, and intelligent agents,” said Leo Sei, Chief Product Officer at TomTom. “We’re excited to be one of the first partners to onboard to IQ sharing and extend access to TomTom location data products across our customers’ analytics and AI ecosystems.”
“IQ sharing is an important step toward making context reusable, governed, and portable, with the potential to bring trusted knowledge, methods, and domain insight to clients in new AI-enabled ways,” added John Whittaker, VP of Cloud Marketplace at EY.
