3D CAD visualization and analysis can now be embedded directly into low-code and no-code applications

SAN ANTONIO, TX, UNITED STATES, September 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — KISTERS is expanding the application possibilities of its 3DViewStation: With a new integration of the 3DViewStation WebViewer into Mendix, companies can easily embed professional 3D CAD visualization and analysis into their business applications by using low-code development.

Embed a full-featured 3D CAD viewer into Mendix applications

Mendix enables companies to develop and deploy custom web and mobile applications very quickly using visual drag-and-drop and model-driven tools. The KISTERS 3DViewStation integration extends these applications with capabilities for displaying and interacting with CAD models. It provides high-performance and easy-to-use 3D and 2D CAD visualization seamlessly within a Mendix application, allowing companies to integrate CAD data into digital processes without requiring users to launch a separate desktop application.

Selected 3D CAD parts are automatically loaded into custom KISTERS 3DViewStation WebViewer version, with the clean model area integrated into the Mendix user interface. This offers fast and intuitive visualization and interaction without standard ribbon. A full-screen button expands the viewer within a pop-up window to default 3DViewStation user interface, including its full ribbon and toolbar. In full-screen mode, the complete range of more than 180 functions is available, providing advanced options such as measurement, sectioning, analyses, clash detection, model comparison, markup, PMI and detailed model inspection.

Potential use cases include digital product catalogs, service and maintenance applications, customer and supplier portals, product configurators, change review documentation, and tailored engineering and manufacturing applications such as digital work instructions.

Web-Based visualization for complex CAD data

The integration enables fast and streamlined handling of even very large and complex 3D and 2D CAD models, with support for all major CAD formats—including CATIA, Creo, NX, Solid Edge, SolidWorks, JT, and STEP—without the need for conversion. The KISTERS 3DViewStation WebViewer uses server-side rendering, helping to protect intellectual property by streaming image and video data rather than transferring 3D geometry to the user’s end device. Application-specific functions and data can also be connected through the extensive APIs (application programming interfaces) available.

Low-code technologies facilitate rapid and scalable application deployment while helping organizations to accelerate development cycles and create more connected digital processes across the enterprise. For many companies, this greatly simplifies the integration of powerful CAD visualization into their workflows.

The integration was implemented by KISTERS partner Four Colors Technology. More information and a video demonstrating the Mendix integration are available on the KISTERS 3DViewStation website.
