DETROIT, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — University of Detroit Mercy is turning 150 years old during the 2026-27 academic year and kicked off the year-long birthday celebration on Aug. 18. 

This year, UDM will host a series of events and hopes that all students, alumni, employees, former employees, friends, supporters and the community will join in celebrating this once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

For more than a year, the University has been organizing the events to ensure there is something for everyone, even people who may not know much about UDM or its role in the history of Detroit.
