Epitel, Inc., a leader in wireless brain health technologies, today announced the appointment of James Reinstein to its Board of Directors. Reinstein joins Epitel’s Board during a period of significant growth for the company. In July, Epitel announced a $26 million Series B financing to accelerate the commercial expansion of its REMI® Remote EEG Monitoring System. The fully wireless, FDA-cleared system enables extended-duration EEG monitoring and is designed to expand access to neurological testing beyond traditional monitoring environments. Epitel is initially focused on seizure detection and diagnosis, an area where millions of Americans experience seizures each year but access to EEG remains limited.

Reinstein most recently served as President and CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of Conformal Medical, where he led the company through a period of significant growth culminating in its acquisition by W. L. Gore in February 2026. The transaction marked the successful transition of Conformal Medical from an emerging medtech company developing a novel solution for stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation to becoming part of one of the world’s most established medical technology companies.

Reinstein’s experience building Conformal and advancing its technology and commercial strategy brings a particularly relevant perspective as Epitel scales its own breakthrough technology and expands its commercial reach.

Throughout his career, Reinstein has served as President, CEO and board member of multiple emerging medical device companies, raising more than $300 million in capital and leading several successful transactions. He previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at LivaNova and held multiple leadership roles at Boston Scientific across markets and geographies. His experience also includes work in the epilepsy space, bringing directly relevant perspective as Epitel expands the reach of its remote EEG technology. Reinstein currently serves as a General Partner with Palo Alto Medtech Advisors.

“I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with James for the past four years, and I’ve seen firsthand what he brings to a company at a pivotal stage of growth,” said Josh Phillips, Chairman of Epitel’s Board of Directors. “He understands how to take innovative medical technologies and build the commercial strategy, teams and infrastructure needed to scale them. Just as importantly, he knows this space and understands what it takes to bring technologies into clinical practice. As Epitel enters its next phase of growth, that combination of experience and judgment will be incredibly valuable to the company and the Board.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Epitel Board of Directors at such an exciting point in the company’s journey. Epitel’s technology has the potential to meaningfully transform the way clinicians detect and manage neurological conditions, and I’m impressed by the team’s vision, innovation, and commitment to improving patient care. I look forward to working alongside the leadership team and fellow board members to help accelerate Epitel’s growth and bring our technology to more patients and clinicians,” said Reinstein.
