Coalition of more than 40 national organizations and allies ramps up Power of the Sister Vote GOTV & Democracy Defense Tour with activations in 22 cities ahead of November 3 election.
Washington, DC October 30, 2026 –(PR.com)– With just four days remaining until the November 3 general election, the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation (NCBCP), its Black Women’s Roundtable (BWR), and a coalition of more than 40 national organizations and state and local allies are intensifying nationwide voter mobilization and democracy defense efforts as part of the Power of the Sister Vote: Get Out the Vote (GOTV) & Democracy Defense National Tour.
As the nation enters the final stretch before Election Day, the coalition is ramping up coordinated voter engagement, grassroots organizing, and election protection efforts across eight states and 22 cities, with a particular focus on mobilizing Black women, Black men, young voters, and historically underserved communities.
Launched in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 13, the national tour has brought together Black women-led organizations, civil rights advocates, faith leaders, labor partners, youth organizers, and community-based organizations around a shared mission: ensuring that every eligible voter has the information, resources, and support needed to exercise their right to vote while protecting the integrity of the democratic process.
“With just five days left until Election Day, this is an all-hands-on-deck moment for our communities and our democracy,” said Melanie L. Campbell, President and CEO of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation and National Convener of the Black Women’s Roundtable. “Our coalition of more than 40 organizations and allies is leaving nothing on the table. We are meeting voters where they are in their neighborhoods, on college campuses, at churches, in barbershops, and throughout our communities to make sure their voices are heard and their votes are counted. The stakes for our democracy could not be higher. We must remain vigilant, organized, and united in defending our voting rights and protecting the fundamental freedoms that generations before us fought to secure.”
Final Push: Defending Democracy
From October 29 through Election Day on November 3, coalition partners are coordinating an aggressive schedule of grassroots activities across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina.
The final push includes neighborhood canvassing, voter education, campus marches to the polls, community rallies, phone and text banking, faith-based mobilization, caravans to early voting locations, transportation assistance, and Election Day voter support.
In addition to increasing voter participation, democracy defense and election protection remain central priorities of the national tour.
Coalition partners are working to ensure voters understand their rights, can identify and report potential voter intimidation or suppression, and have access to trusted resources when encountering barriers at the polls. These efforts include poll monitor training, voter assistance, election protection outreach, and community-based support designed to help safeguard access to the ballot.
The coalition is also encouraging voters to remain informed, verify election information through trusted sources, and report voting-related problems rather than allowing confusion, misinformation, or intimidation to prevent them from casting their ballots.
Black Women Leading The Charge:
Throughout the tour, Black women-led organizations have been at the forefront of organizing and mobilizing communities, continuing their longstanding leadership in advancing voting rights, civic participation, and democracy.
Working alongside Black Youth Vote, state Black Women’s Roundtable networks, faith communities, and national and local partners, the coalition is strengthening intergenerational engagement and ensuring that Black voters are equipped to participate fully in the democratic process.
The final days of the tour will also emphasize the power of collective action, with organizers encouraging voters to bring family members, friends, neighbors, and first-time voters to the polls. “Our message is simple: Don’t sit on the sidelines. Make a plan, bring someone with you, and vote,” Campbell added. “This election is about more than any one candidate or political party. It is about the future of our communities, the protection of our rights, and the strength of our democracy. We have five days to make sure every voice is heard. United We Win!”
Know Your Rights:
The NCBCP and its partners are encouraging voters to confirm their polling locations, review voting requirements in their states, and take advantage of remaining early voting opportunities where available.
Voters experiencing problems at the polls or witnessing potential voter intimidation, discrimination, or voting rights violations are encouraged to contact the nonpartisan Election Protection Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683). For information about transportation assistance to the polls, voters can call 877-524-VOTE (8683). The Power of the Sister Vote GOTV & Democracy Defense National Tour continues through Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
